This piece, made in laburnum including laburnum "oysters", was made a couple of years ago . It includes a hidden mechanism to pop up the lid and a compartment inside. As you can see from the photos the lid is reversible in a vibrant green or neutral colour, to fit with your mood or decor!
This is the first open are exhibition that Home has ever held. There are 500 exhibitors from the Greater Manchester are selected from thousands of submissions. I am delighted by the recognition of this piece as an artwork as well as a functional item.
The exhibition runs until 29th March so there's still time to spot this piece amongst the great variety of other artworks. I particularly enjoyed some of the portraits and it's well worth a visit.
